What is a Finished Good? A Finished Good is a SKU that has been synced from your Shopify store—simply put, an item that you sell on Shopify.
What is Raw Material? Learn here.
A Bill of Materials (BOM) can include both Finished Goods and Raw Materials. For example, if you sell a Kit (BOM) that consists of the following Materials:
Bottle A (Finished Good)
Bottle B (Finished Good)
Towel (Raw Material)
The BOM for this Kit would include both Finished Goods and Raw Materials. Prediko allows you to set it up correctly and ensure we are telling you to order Materials in time.
How to create Bill of Material (BOM) with Finished Good?
Simply follow the same flow for creating BOM here, ensuring that you select the appropriate Finished Good as part of the BOM.
Troubleshooting:
Don’t see your Finished Good in the dropdown? Start typing its name, and it will appear.
Why do I need to specify which Location Finished Good is in?
The Location of a Finished Good is important because it helps with:
Demand Updates: BOM-based demand affects purchasing requirements, so the system updates the necessary quantity accordingly.
Do you deduct the amount of Finished Goods (Material) that are used up in the Production of Production Order?
No, we read the amount that you have on your Shopify.
So make sure to remove the quantity used up in production from your available units.
My Plan graph and metrics haven't updated for the Finished Good Material - only the amount "to buy" did - is this correct?
Yes, this is expected behavior. Currently, we only display intrinsic demand (excluding demand coming from the Bill of Material) for Finished Goods on the Plan page.
BOM-related demand is only reflected in the "To Buy" quantity.
Example:
A product has 0 intrinsic sales demand from Shopify but 100 units needed from BOM demand.
The Plan page won’t show demand (plan), but you’ll still see 100 units to order.
Can I upload my BOMs with Finished Goods via a template?
Yes, in the import ensure to follow the template and add the Location for any Finished Goods that are added as Material.
