Creating Raw Materials Catalogue inside Prediko

Written by Youri Moskovic

Raw Materials

Within Prediko, you can use the 'Add Raw Material' tab to create a catalogue for your raw materials, add a Bill of Materials (BOM) and also create a Purchase Order (PO) for Order Placement Planning.

Additionally, you can manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production orders to streamline raw material tracking and consumption.

You can Import Raw Materials or add them manually as shown here:

Step 1

Create a Raw Material Catalogue. Go to Raw Material and then click on Catalogue and Add Raw Material.

Pro Tip: You can also import raw materials in bulk

BOMs are crucial for ensuring accurate tracking of raw materials during production and sales.

a. Add information about raw material:

  • Add Raw Material Product Name

  • Add SKU names

  • Define Category

  • Define Metric

b. Add in what Location you store this Raw Material. Learn more about where we sync Location info here.

c. Add Cost

  • Either as a range or simple Unit Cost

Step 2

Add correct Units in Stock, assign Supplier and update Lead Time days.

Lead times play a critical role in determining order recommendations and ensuring the timely replenishment of raw materials.

Production Orders and Raw Material Deduction

Raw materials are consumed during production orders. Drafting a production order blocks the raw material units, marking them as "in production." Once the production order is completed, the raw materials are deducted from stock. If stock deduction issues occur, ensure raw materials are finalized in Shopify and BOMs are correctly configured.

Integration with Shopify

Prediko integrates with Shopify to track raw material usage via BOMs. However, raw materials are not automatically deducted during sales events. By defining BOMs for finished products, users can ensure accurate planning and reordering.
