What is a Stocktake?
It's a guided physical inventory count flow. In Prediko, you can create a stocktake for one or more locations, add products (search or scan), count them (type quantities, or use a connected Bluetooth/keyboard-wedge barcode scanner, or scan with a phone camera), then review the variances and finalise to apply stock adjustments.

How to create a Stocktake?
1. Go to Inventory → Stocktakes → Create stocktake.
2. Pick a location and confirm.
3. On the wizard, add products via search or scan.
4. Move to the Count step and enter counts (or connect a physical scanner and scan barcodes).
5. Click "Review stocktake" → "Finalise & Save"
Example:
A warehouse team counts a single location's SKUs with a Bluetooth barcode scanner; each scan increments the counted quantity, and finalising applies the counted-vs-expected deltas as a stock adjustment.

Can multiple team members perform the same stocktake at the same time?
Yes. Prediko supports multiple users working on the same stocktake simultaneously.
This is ideal for larger warehouses or retail stores where the workload is split across different areas, such as separate floors, aisles, or zones. Each team member can scan inventory independently while contributing to the same stocktake.
Can multiple users count inventory in the same location?
Yes. Multiple users can perform a stocktake within the same inventory location at the same time. For example, if a retail store has three floors, three staff members can each count a different floor simultaneously as part of the same stocktake, helping complete the count much faster.
Do we need to create separate stocktakes for each counter?
No. A single stocktake can be shared across multiple users, allowing everyone to contribute to the same counting session. This keeps all counted quantities in one place and eliminates the need to merge or reconcile multiple stocktakes afterward.
What happens if two users scan the same item?
If two users accidentally count the same item, Prediko flags the duplicate so it can be reviewed before the stocktake is completed. This helps prevent accidental double counting and ensures your final inventory adjustments remain accurate.
Can we divide a stocktake into different zones or areas?
Yes. While all users can participate in the same stocktake, it's recommended to assign each team member a specific section of your warehouse or store (such as floors, aisles, or shelves) to minimize duplicate scans and speed up the counting process.
Is simultaneous stock counting suitable for large retail stores and warehouses?
Yes. Prediko's collaborative stocktake workflow is designed for businesses where multiple staff members need to count inventory at the same time, making it well suited for large warehouses, multi-floor retail stores, and high-SKU environments.
When should inventory be updated in Shopify?
Once the stocktake has been reviewed and any duplicate counts have been resolved, you can complete the stocktake and sync the final inventory quantities to Shopify. This ensures only verified inventory counts are reflected in your store.
