Refreshing your plan regularly
If you are using the "Smart Model" with "Type of Refresh" = Manual, make sure that you use the Re-Plan button and refresh your plan for all your SKUs regularly!
Prediko offers two types of refresh mechanisms: manual and automatic. Manual refresh allows users to update plans themselves, while automatic refresh updates plans based on predefined settings.
How to Refresh the Plan for all SKUs?
Check that your Total Sales Plan for 12 Months is accurate. Select the Edit button if not, and update.
Click on the Refresh button
What is "Refresh Plan"?
When you "Refresh Plan," you are updating the Plan based on the most recent, up-to-date sales info, given your growth expectations.
Essentially, you are telling the algorithm, "If I were creating a Plan today, given my Total Sales expectations, what would be the Plan?"
However, it's important to note that refreshing a plan will override any manual edits made previously, aligning the plan with the latest sales trends and projections.
Why is it important to Refresh your plan regularly?
When you "Refresh" all SKUs, you are refreshing the distribution of your Total Sales Plan across all SKUs based on the most recent trends. E.g. if one SKU started selling more in recent weeks, this trend will be picked up and a bigger proportion of your overall Plan will be distributed to it.
You can of course keep the Plan static for SKUs by not selecting them during the update, but remember to then Edit the Plan manually.
It is important to keep your Plan as fresh as possible to keep the most accurate purchasing recommendations and so we'd advise to re-plan on at least a monthly basis.
Regular refreshing ensures that your plan reflects the most recent sales trends, helping you make informed purchasing decisions.
Why doesn't Prediko refresh automatically?
Prediko does not refresh automatically when you set your "Type of refresh" as Off as any automatic refreshes may inadvertently override details of your Plan you wouldn't want to change.
Only you can Edit your Plan as there may be a specific reason why you want to keep it higher/lower for upcoming months (marketing, closures etc).
Choosing between manual and automatic refresh mechanisms depends on your need for control versus the importance of up-to-date data.
How to know when I last refreshed the Plan?
You can see when you last manually updated the plan or used the "Re-Plan" button on your Demand Planning section.
Note that this would pick up any updates, even if you only updated one SKU.
To manage your plans effectively, document any manual edits so they can be reapplied if needed after a refresh.
