What is a Pack?

A Pack is a group of items that are sold together in a set quantity. Instead of buying each item individually, you buy them in a pack that has a specific number of units, like a "Pack of 10." This means you can only order the product in multiples of that number. For example, if a product is sold in packs of 10, you can order 10, 20, 30, and so on, but not 1 or 5.

How can I set up Packs in Prediko?

  1. Select Supplier >

  2. Go to "SKUs Supplied" section >

  3. Edit the "Pack Type" and "Pack Quantity"

  4. Done!

💭 if you select a "Product" type with 50 units Pack, you will need to reach 50 units set(s) across all SKUs of the same Product (sum of all SKUs) that is produced by this Supplier in the PO.

If you select a "SKU" type with 50 units Pack, you will need to reach 50 units set(s) on this SKU in the PO.

How Prediko can help when placing an order?

💡When you create PO, you can select a column "Pack Met", where you can see if on this SKU indeed the Pack has been met.

How to scale to Pack to meet the requirement

  1. Hover on the (i) icon in the column next to the "No" result

  2. Select all SKUs > Scale to Pack (bulk action) > Confirm

  3. This will select all the relevant SKUs and increase the order to meet the Pack.

IMPORTANT: We scale to Pack per location, to make sure that the Pack is ordered in full to each location.e.g. if you have PO that delivers to 3 locations and Pack Size is 50, we will make sure that to each location we order a multiple of 50.

Note

You can also see "Pack Quantity" in your PO, as well as "Units Ordered" to make your purchasing easier with Suppliers. For example, if a product is sold in packs of 10, and you are ordering 50 units, you will see 5 units of "Pack Quantity"

Example

To clarify the process for ordering and receiving dog bones in "Pack" quantities:

  1. Pack Definition: Each "Pack" consists of 100 dog bones (pack on a SKU level).

  2. Order Quantity: Prediko will provide you with the number of dog bones you need to order based on the SKU. For example, if it tells you to order 75 dog bones, you will create a purchase order (PO) for that quantity.

  3. Scaling to Pack: When creating a PO, the system will show you the Pack quantity. If you are ordering fewer than 100 dog bones (e.g., 75), the system will scale the order to the nearest whole Pack. In this case, you will see 0.75 of a Pack, and the system will automatically round up to 1 Pack (100 dog bones) when you use the "Scale to Pack" bulk action. The "Pack Met" field will show "No" if the order doesn't meet the full Pack size.

  4. PO Export: When exporting the PO, you have the option to include the Pack Quantity column. This allows you to see the order in terms of Packs instead of individual dog bones. Additionally, you can update the SupplierSKU name to indicate that you're ordering Packs, so your supplier is aware of this.

  5. Receiving the Order: When you receive the order, you'll be asked to record the number of dog bones received, not the number of Packs. This ensures the correct units are accounted for.

In summary:

  • You’ll be told how many dog bones to order.

  • If the number of dog bones doesn't fill a full Pack, the system notifies you to scale it up to the next whole Pack during the PO stage.

  • The Pack Quantity will be shown in the PO, and you can export this information.

  • When receiving, you'll report the number of dog bones, not the Packs.

This method ensures the accuracy of your orders and helps you manage Pack quantities effectively.
