What is a Bundle?

A bundle is a set of two or more related products that are sold individually in your store but can be 'bundled' together often at a discounted price or some other benefit. They are comprised of 'child products' or products that can be bought as standalone items.

Once a bundle has been created, it will no longer appear in your Buying Table, just the remaining child SKUs will appear and please note that a Bundle is different to a Bill of Material (a bundle usually relates to finished goods whereas a BOM would be composition of raw materials needed to assemble a finished good - for more info, see here).

Is it a Bundle or a Bill of Material?

Bundle*

BOM

Hold stock?

No, as holding stock of Child Products only, which determines whether can provide a Bundle

Yes, as manufacture the complete product, have to hold stock for a BOM item as well as usually a stock of Raw Materials

Composed of...

Finished Good items, that can be bought in a shop standalone

Raw Materials, that can't be purchased on store

Production time...

No manufacturing or production time is required

Yes, it takes time to assemble or produce an item.

Can see on the Buying Table?

No, as there is never a need to purchase "Bundles" from Suppliers. Only Child Products are purchasable.

Yes, as need to create a "Production Order" for a specific demand.

How to set up Bundles on Prediko?

There are several ways to setup Bundles within Prediko:

Shopify Bundles

If you use Shopify Bundles there is no setup required as these will automatically pull all the Bundle information directly from your Shopify account as part of our integration. You won't see a list of these Bundles on the Bundle page though, they will be automatically removed from your Buying Table.

Bundles.app Integration

We have an integration with the popular Bundles.app - To set this up, simply follow these instructions. Once the integration is established, bundles can be managed through bundles.app and this will then sync through to Prediko.

Importing Bundles

Use the Import feature to import your Bundle combinations directly into the system. You will need to head to your Settings, download the template and fill this in correctly making sure all the names of the Products/SKUs mimic that which is already in Prediko. Double check spelling, formatting and that the SKUs are present in Prediko otherwise you will receive an error when uploading.

Creating Bundles Manually

Example 1

To manually add your Bundles, head to your Settings and select the option to create manually.

In this example, I have a bundle called the "The Collection Snowboard" bundle which consists of snowboards and a hat.

First, select the Bundle from the dropdown list and the Child Product(s) that are part of your bundle.

Next you want to add any SKUs that make up that product. In this example, there are several different snowboard designs and there is 1 of each SKU that make up this bundle. The correct linked SKU is selected and then the applicable quantity of how many of that SKU make up that bundle.

In this example, there is also a cap that comes in this bundle. Select "Add child product" to add more products to the bundle and then any extra SKUs will appear in the dropdown list below.

When finished select "Save"

Once saved, you will see the Bundle and the constituent child Products listed below

Example 2

In this example I have a Bundle called the "Black Merino Collection". This bundle consists of 3 pairs of socks called "Black Merino Socks" (3 of the same item). There are however different sizes and so each size represents an individual SKU.

There are then 3 separate SKUs linked to this Child product

The SKUs will still show in the Buying Table however the Bundle will no longer be showing.

In the Bundles table, this would then show with just one associated Child Product

How are Bundles included in metrics and recommendations:

  • Sales are summed on the individual SKU basis

    • e.g. IF your Bundle = SKU A + SKU B and it sold 50 units. But SKU A sold 20 units single, we would show 50 + 20 = 70 units sold for SKU A

  • Plans automatically take into account sales from single SKU sales and Bundle Sales and split them proportionally

  • We only count inventory of the underlying SKUs, not of the Bundle

  • Buying recommendations take into account Plans for Bundles and Single sales.
